Beer Necessities was born after one of our founder members Jim discovered his first ‘stubby-holder’ while honeymooning in Asia. On returning home, he searched in vain for more of these stubby-holders but had no luck until a weekend break in Amsterdam. He bought a couple more for his collection and a few as gifts for his friends who were also interested in them.

After searching online for a seller, Jim realised that these can coolies, beer koozies or huggies were not well known in western Europe. He also found that they are part of everyday life in the US, Australia and Asia. It was then Jim decided he would bring Can and bottle coolers to all beer drinkers in Ireland, UK and Europe and end the days of warm beer and cold hands.

With the help of his local business start up agency and a web development company, Beer Necessities has been receiving enquiries from web visitors from the first week it went online.

Beer Necessities gets over 500 hits a day from visitors worldwide and is slowly spreading the message that whether you drink beer out of a can or bottle, you can keep your beer cold and your hands warm.
